Beaver Chase Running Series Presented by Bushtukah

About the Event:  21 st year

The Beaver Chase Series was initiated in 1994 to give runners of all ages and abilities an opportunity to participate in a spring/summer low key event.  It has an early evening start time and distances that can be managed by most runners.  The series got its name at the first ever event, when a beaver scurried out of a pond and chased the lead runner to a foot bridge and then sat and watched as all the runners passed by.

Course Information
Timing/Results: All events in the Beaver Chase Series are manually timed. Volunteers call out times at the finish line and each runner is to record their times on the form provided. Results will be posted on the Run Ottawa Club website shortly thereafter.
Entry Fees

Payable at each event only. The cost for each Beaver Chase run is $5 per person for any runner 15 years of age or older. Youth 14 years and under pay $2 at the event.

There will be random draw prizes given out at each event, compliments of Bushtukah and Run Ottawa.

Race Day Information

Dates: Tuesdays – May 13, June 10, July 8 and August 14th

Time: Both the 2k and 6k events commence at 6:30 p.m.

Registration commences at 5:30 p.m. right up until 6:25 p.m. or so.

Location: Our new site is the Richcraft Recreation Complex, 4 101 Innovation Drive, Ottawa, ON, K2K 0J3.

Race Details: The course includes shaded cinder trails and sidewalks along Innovation Drive. There are marshals posted where required and a water station after the first loop for 6K runners. There will be a map displayed on run day.

Services

There is one water station in the 6k event and each km is marked. Marshals are posted in key locations to guide participants along the course. Water is also provided at the start/finish line.
