Run Ottawa Trail Race Series – Presented by Sports 4

Introducing Run Ottawa’s new Trail Race Series, a great opportunity for runners of all abilities to participate in an off-road race. Each of the three 5K events in the series will be held at a different location in the Ottawa region and will take place on mostly wooded, non-challenging trails, featuring grass and/or dirt surfaces. Each event will be timed and there will be prizes for performance and participation. Take to the trails with Run Ottawa in 2014!

Date + Start Times

Thursday, June 19 – Trail Race #1 - Pinhey Forest Trails - 7:00 p.m. start

Thursday, August 21 - Trail Race #2 - Bell Centennial Arena - 7:00 p.m. start

Thursday, September 25 – Trail Race #3 - Ottawa Pathway and Trails - 6:30 p.m. start

Location

Trail Race #1 - Pinhey Forest Trails

Race Site: Living Waters Community Church, 105 Slack Road (east of Woodroffe Avenue)

The event is held totally within the Pinhey Forest Trail.

Trail Race #2 - Bell Centennial Arena

Race Site:  Bell High School – 40 Cassidy Road

Most of the event is held on the NCC Trails behind the arena with the start and finish line on the school grounds.

Trail Race #3 - Ottawa Pathway and Trails

Race Site:  Carine Wilson Secondary School, 975 Orleans Blvd.

Start and finish is near the school while the race is held along the pathways and trail located near and around the school.

Trail Runs (all 3)
Members $15
Non-Members $20
Youth (under 18) $10

Note: Fees do not include HST or on-line transaction fees.

On-site registration
  • race day registration from 5:30-6:45 p.m. at the race site, Living Waters Church, 105 Slack Road. The cost is $25 per entry, $15 for youth 18 and under
Race Details
Marshals, markings and signs will get runners around the course at each event.  Each event will be timed, results available immediately afterwards and awards presented shortly thereafter.
Age Categories Awards

Top male and female finishers, 1 st male and female 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Prizes will be provided by Sports 4 and the New Balance Ottawa store.

Several draw prizes will be given out also.

Services
There will be portable toilets on site, ample parking plus refreshments.
